Course Summary

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings covering the knowledge and skills to provide first aid response, life support, management of the casualty(s) and resuscitation.

Delivery Options

Students are to complete pre course theory via self-paced learning using either our on-line course or we can send out a workbook and manual. Upon completion of the theory students are required to attend 8 hours of face to face workshop.

A refresher course is available for students who hold a current Provide First Aid certificate, in which case there is no pre course theory to complete. Students just attend the 8 hours of face to face workshop.

Pocket Mask Training

Pocket Mask Training is available for an additional $30 which includes the mask and a certificate. This is a requirement for entry to the NSW Police Force and other Emergency Services. Please add this course to your cart when checking out.  (Note that this is not an accredited level of training but does satisfy the Emergency Services entry requirements)

Award Issued 

  • Upon successful completion a Statement of Attainment will be issued for HLTAID03 Provide first aid
  • It is recommended that refresher training in CPR should be carried out annually and first aid qualifications should be renewed every three years
